A great chance to visit Kirtland Air Force Base... this Sunday October 9, 2011, the base will be open with a performance by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds! Also, displays of vintage and modern aircraft and a skydiving show.
I remember seeing the Thunderbirds a few years ago in the heat of the summer and it was awesome! Seeing it in the fall could only be better.

Cannon Air Force Base construction projects

Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, NM, has beeen busy building to keep up with the increase in their mission. They've been building new hangars for the C-130's and also a new cchild development center, which will double thier child care facilities. Also the dorms are being upgraded so I'm sure that will be appreciated.

So glad to see that the bases in New Mexico continue to thrive.

Short Sales homes for sale in Rio Rancho and Albuquerque

Homes for sale listed as "short sale" mean... and this is a quick abbreviated explanation.... that the sale price of the house with be short what the lender is owed, and the home owner doesn't have the money to bring to closing to pay off the loan in full. When this "short" situation occurs, many folks who must sell their home do a short sale. The lender or bank must agree to the sale of the home and agree to take less than they are owed on the mortgage.

Sound tricky? Is is. Most banks aren't very fond of taking less than they are owed. For home buyers though, if they don't need a home to move into by a certain date, and if they are extremely patient, it's possible to buy a short sale home and get a great deal.

We've closed a few short sale homes lately - so we know it's possible. In each case, the home buyer had a rental home on a month to month lease so if the short sale offer came through, their move date was flexible.
